September opens with a Labor Day New Moon on Monday, September 6th in the taskmaster sign of Virgo. This is a powerful New Moon for manifestation. New moons represent new beginnings, fresh starts and clean slates. This is a really good time to set your intentions and goals over the coming month and season. Virgo literally represents the very sign of work, labor, service, and health. Virgo is the 6th sign in the zodiac that gives us logic and practicality. Having an eye for detail and a knack for being efficient. Virgo energy helps us to get into a functional routine and clean up the messy areas of our lives. Virgo is a mutable sign that is very adaptable to the ever changing nature of life. It rules the element of earth, making this a time of being highly focused on practical matters.

On Friday, September 10th, Venus, the planet of values and possessions, shifts from the balanced sign of Libra into the deep waters of Scorpio. She will be here until October 7th. Scorpio is the 8th sign of the zodiac and rules power, money, shared resources, joint finances and secrets! Things will get hot and steamy! Expect that emotions will be intense and you will be passionate and driven to evolve. At work you will give your heart and soul and use all resources efficiently.

On Monday, September 13, Mercury will begin its shadow phase. This happens about two weeks before and two weeks after the Retrograde. Remember that Mercury is the planet of communication, so when it reverses, communications can go awry. The shadow period gives us a peek into what we need to rethink and revisit and re-edit.. The retrograde period will begin on September 27th and continue until October 18th. We will gain insights during this shadow period for understanding things later. This is about perspective and viewing things differently.

We will also have on September 13th, the Sun, representing self, in the practical earth sign of Virgo… as it opposes Neptune, the planet of illusion. Things may be confusing, we may question our habits or to do list. With Neptune, we may not see things as they really are.

On September 15th, the warrior planet of Mars shifts into the harmonious sign of Libra. He will be here until October 31st. The airy, diplomatic sign of Libra… which rules relationships, art, and beauty is not the most comfortable fit for Masculine Mars… who prefers battle, confrontation and conflict. So for the next two months during its passage in Libra, watch that you aren’t picking fights or looking for trouble where there is none. Look to use this hot energy to build constructive and productive relationships, especially with yourself xo
