Welcome December

Sagittarius energies take center stage with the Sun, Mercury and Mars, bringing adventure and opportunity to your life (just in time for the holidays)! Sagittarius brings a lightening of the heaviness that the eclipses and Scorpio transits brought. We are now turning a page with a focus on faith and hope. As the month progresses Mercury will station retrograde slowing things down and the Capricorn energies begin to unfold. Expect to turn your focus on accomplishing important and tedious tasks to wrap up the 2023 year and prepare for 2024.

December 1st Mercury enters Capricorn, Mercury the planet of communication and travel, will move into the very logical and rational sign of Capricorn from December 1st to-December 23, 2023. When Mercury is here, your thinking is more organized and methodical, and your focus is rational and practical. It is easier to concentrate on the task at hand under this influence. Expect your conversations to be quite realistic or focused on business or practical matters. Your thought patterns and communication styles become more logical, orderly, and organized.
Take advantage of this time period to make solid, realistic plans and get organized.  Plan ahead and map out your next steps moving forward.

December 4th Venus, the Goddess of Love, is now in the deep and intense sign of Scorpio. Expect your passion in relationships to surge. This is a great time that you can work to improve intimacy with those that you are closest to. You will also be seeking out deeper, more intense connections with others.

December 12th Expect to have big ideas, expansive projects and ventures that expand your life in new ways!  We have a New Moon in fiery sign of Sagittarius. This is a great time to set intentions that expand your life in new ways. Your optimism can be very high!

This New Moon in Sagittarius marks the beginning of a new cycle. Last year’s New Moon in Sagittarius was a Solar Eclipse. Since then, we have learned a lot about our what our needs are. This will be a time when we can focus on some of the constructive traits of the sign of the Sagittarius Archer, including being more optimistic, enthusiastic, more adventurous, honest, outspoken, and independent.

Work to focus on goals that will increase your awareness and understanding. This new moon will offer the opportunity for more courage to expand your horizons, and to gain confidence and optimism from a broader perspective. All too easily, we can get lost in the details of mundane existence. With this fiery and expansive energy, we can look for ways to help nurture our faith, hope, and optimistic vision.

December 13th, Mercury, the planet of travel and communication, stations retrograde in the earth sign of Capricorn. This retrograde cycle may have you feeling like you are heading backward in pursuit of your goals and projects. You may have to put some things down and pick them back up later.

Mercury stationing retrograde will be prompting a brief reevaluation period of your long-term goals and what you are building in this world. Ask yourself…What do you want to leave behind? Is what you are working toward still in alignment with your values?

Expect topics around your career, vocation, and your public image to become more of a focus. With Mercury reversing its way back through the sky, you may find yourself rethinking some of the endeavors and projects that you have been slowly building upon.

Are you satisfied with what you’ve been establishing? If not, this will be the time to go back to the drawing board. Since Capricorn is a ruled by the planet Saturn, it represents, boundaries, restriction, limitation, challenge and karma.

Saturn is the “Lord of Time.” or better yet, “The concept of time.” Think about time and…is it passing by you? Do you have enough of it? Are you taking advantage of it?

On December 21st, The Sun Enters the determined sign of the Seagoat , Capricorn. This marks the Winter Solstice, the darkest day in the Northern Hemisphere, and the day with the most light in the Southern Hemisphere.

Capricorn is a complex energy that is known to be driven and hard-working. As the Sun shifts into this very determined earth sign, the ambitions and objectives you have for the new year will not only be illuminated, but the shift in season will motivate you to take action. At this time, if you’ve been putting off any important responsibilities, you may feel inclined to take care of them.

Capricorn season is about fully embracing what your obligations are, so you’ll feel the weight of your commitments really start to set in. Capricorn is also very reflective and has a spiritual nature. As the Sun transits this Saturn-ruled sign, you may find yourself more introspective, reflecting upon your long-term sense of purpose, the bigger goals that you have, and the deeper meaning of your traditions.

Where you have this Capricorn placement, you may feel a sense of duty to leave the world a better place, thinking not only of yourself, but those we will never meet who follow behind us.

On December 22nd, we are having a Sun & Mercury Cazimi…the Sun, which is one of the most powerful celestial bodies we know, meets up in the sky with the planet Mercury.

When a planet meets up or is “conjunct” in the sky with the Sun, it is called Cazimi. It is said to be “in the Heart of the Sun.” The closeness of the Sun is thought to fortify the planets energy. At this time Mercury could receive some positive news due to the Sun’s energy. Remember that it is currently retrograde, causing us to review, rewind, rethink, topics in our life, in a sense, to go back over and create more sustainability.

Mercury Cazimi is an awakening of sorts. This combined energy brings a sense of magic and hope. It is a beneficial time to make dreams happen or to initiate things that embody your thoughts and types of communication. The information is purified, strengthened, and more greatly illuminated. Make the most of this magical opportunity!

December ends with a beautiful Full Moon in Cancer on December 26th 2023. This Moon is highlighting your emotional needs that have taken a backseat during the hustle and bustle energy of the Capricorn season. At this time, you may feel intuitively led to people, places, or things that support and satisfy you.

While Capricorn season tends to emphasize rational thinking, this full moon is a reminder that your feelings and emotional needs deserve to be honored too.

I feel that this is one of THE best Full Moons of the year, and it’s just perfect for an after-Christmas gathering or for an opportunity for internal reflection.

This Full Moon asks you to be in the moment. To be present and content. To appreciate those that you share space with. Whether you spend time with your family, with friends, or by yourself – its about sinking in and feeling a sense of community and belonging. At this time, your community is everywhere! I encourage you to take time to reach out to a friend or loved one. Sink in,and enjoy quality time in the space of others you love.
